whats worse i have spent several months down in the dumps, promising myself that actually would start to write more stuff and finally get the courage to put up here instead of just reblogs and now just like that tumblr bans nsfw which has lead to talks of people about having to leave and im like XP
Im just thinking about that experiment a trans girl did on Instagram (which also had a Female Presenting Nipples ban) where she posted a picture of herself shirtless every single day starting on day 1 of her HRT trying to see at which point the instagram mods would decide that “Yep those are woman boobs we’re shutting this down”
People who like rocks see cool rocks everywhere. People who like birds see interesting birds everywhere. The tree on your yard could be an exceptional specimen. The world around you could be amazing and magical, but you aren’t enough of a nerd to see it.
I gave my mum Alexandra Horowitz’s On Looking: Eleven Walks Through Expert Eyes for her birthday this year, it’s a book that revolves around this idea: the author invites 11 specialists in different things to walk around a boring city block with her one after the other so they can point out to her the things they see, that she doesn’t notice. There’s an expert in typography talking about what the variety of fonts on urban signs can tell you about the city’s history, an entomologist pointing out all the urban insects no one pays attention to, a geologist, a sound engineer…
I know there’s a lot of tension after Tumblr’s new policy annouced for December 17th, but reblog this if you aren’t leaving Tumblr so that other blogs can know they aren’t going to be completely alone!
i basically keeping this blog up, just in case. possibly gonna share links to my other non-tumblr accounts
Go here and download the 32 bit Python installer. Install it by double-clicking.
Go here and download the tumblr-backup files found in step 2.
Open a new terminal window.
In a finder window, go to your downloads folder, and then unzip the file you downloaded in step 2. You will see a file named tumblr_backup.py.
Drag the tumblr_backup.py file onto the terminal window.
Type the name of the blog you want to save.
Hit enter.
It will download to your “Home” folder.
Tired of waiting for tumblr to do your backup? Do it with python… (you can also do it with a tag – use “-t tagname” before your blogname on the command line).
